I'm an educator and researcher in the field of Engineering Human Computer Interaction. In education and HCI, the ultimate goal is to change something behind the eyes or between the ears: the last three inches.
Yes, being Canadian I'd really rather have something metric like “last five centimetres”, but Indian (.in) domains are much less expensive and malware-prone than domains from Cameroon (.cm). Besides “last three inches” is catchier.
For better or for worse, I’m responsible for the design of this site. The main fonts are Fontin Sans and Museo by Jos Buivenga [1]. Custom icons and the animé portrait of me are by the very talented Amethyst Wreggitt, who is available for artistic and design commissions of all sizes. The site colour scheme got a whole lot less boring after a chat with my son Jared.
The more recent parts of this site are written using HTML5 and CSS3 with just a touch of Javascript. The pages themselves are generated using a fairly small Python script that I'm planning to release under an open source license just as soon as I'm completely happy with it. It takes ReStructuredText (ReST) documents, converts them to HTML using the docutils library, and inserts the results into Django templates. Page styles started from the amazing HTML5 Boilerplate and incorporate tricks borrowed from all over. The nicely-formatted PDF versions of each page (available via the PDF icon beside the title) are generated using PrinceXML.
